2. The bigger the aperture hole, the smaller the f , the background and foreground becomes more blur.
3. A lens typically has a set of marked 'f stops'. 3 clicks equal to 1 'f stop'.
4. Standard 'f stops' : 2, 2.8 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22, 32

Instructions
Take a picture of any image starting with the right exposure combination of shutter speed and aperture.
Start your aperture settings from the lowest number.
Do not change the shutter settings as the aperture is increased.
Use a subject which is repetitive in nature.
If you are using zoom lens, keep it fixed at 50mm.
When you mount the camera on the tripod, do not move the framing until the exercise is concluded.
The focus must be at the same point from the first image right till the last.
Keep a record of the settings for each image shot.

Fixed shutter speed at 1/200, fixed zoom lens at 35mm, fixed ISO at 200.

FEEDBACK
Specific Feedback
- Mr. Vinod further explained and clarified the meaning of Depth of Field (DOF) to me. The smaller the Aperture number, the more shallow the DOF, the blurrer the foreground and the background.
- He looked at the exercise I had done last week and said it was okay, although the pictures are a little blur.

REFLECTION
I realized that the best way to learn how to use a DSLR is to use the camera itself in practical situations. The students in the class were probably confused while the lecture about aperture was underway. Thankfully after the practical exercise, the students were able to familiarize with their own camera settings and also understand deeper on how aperture affects the quality of photographs.
I think this exercise has really made me understand about the role of the aperture. However, if I want to master my photography skills, I have to conduct extra practice with the camera as learning is not only confined in the lecture class.
